K-Series TV Optoliner Systems

Detachable Illumination Systems

Detachable Illumination Systems
All K-Series Projectors have provisions for rapid attachment and removal of various Illumination Systems, each serving a specific purpose.

Unless otherwise specified each system is supplied with the standard Incandescent Illumination System which contains three Tungsten-Halogen filament lamps placed inside an integrating sphere yielding a high degree of output uniformity.

When attached to the projector, the Incandescent Illumination System is automatically hooked up to the lamp power supply through a connector which is located at the internal probe behind the opening in the interface flange.

The Tungsten-Halogen filament light bulbs are specifically manufactured for the K-Series Optoliner to exacting tolerances to yield the desired color temperature at design voltage.

Lamp replacement is easily accomplished by removing the rear sphere with three captive thumb screws.  A lamp puller is provided to avoid fingerprints and scratches on the highly sensitive white diffusive paint that lines the sphere inside wall.
The Adjustable Incandescent Illumination System features a continuous light reduction capability at constant color temperature and constant voltage.  Total range is approximately one decade.  At light levels below 50% of max. setting, the uniformity of illumination may be degraded (please request data).

The optional Xenon Flash Illumination System is equipped with a ring-shaped flash tube and a pigtailed high voltage captive cable for direct hookup to the flash driver power supply.

Other Illumination Systems have been custom designed to perform specific tasks.  One of these uses two sets of Light Emitting Diodes for two specific wavelengths in the near-infrared region.

Only the Incandescent Illumination Systems can be powered by the power supply that is part of the Multi-Purpose Meter; all other Illumination Systems require their own specialized power sources.
