60 SECOND DEVIATION WEDGE -- D-636The deviation angle for the Model D-636 60 Second Deviation Wedge wedge ranges between 60 and 65 seconds, with the exact angle certified to 0.5 arc second. The ability to produce nearly any precise angle within the range of the instrument makes the D-636 an accurate and dependable standard for scale factor testing of collimators, autocollimators, windows, rotary tables, and other wedges.
From the sketch below it is apparent that the Model D-636 wedge rotation causes the vertical and horizontal angular components of deviation to vary between 0 and 60 arc seconds. Rotational position of the wedge is read directly from a 0 to 359 arc minute scale engraved on the wedge itself. Direct reading to 1 arc minute permits computation of horizontal and vertical angular components of deviations to 0.1 arc second.
